HOMEWARD BOUND - JUNE 4 2007

We had a great week in Cleveland with Naomi and grandson Leo. It's remarkable how fast babies grow and learn - during the week Leo started to stand up on his own and with help he would take a step or two. You can see his mind constantly working in trying to figure out how this or that works. IT IS REMARKABLE!! I guess we tend to look at grandchildren differently than our own kids growing up, since we were around them every day, and the growth or changes were not that evident. We saw the same thing in Lucia and Graham as they grow.

We left Cleveland this morning after a wonderful week with family, dinning, shopping and helping out. We also had a chance to see and share lunch with Alan (Sharon's son) 100 miles south of Cleveland. It was good to see him.

In my last blog I mentioned something about 'same old' as we travel through our regular return route. Actually, things are not the same - as we normally come through here much earlier. This time everything is much greener, the New York State vineyards are full of green and blooming. Instead of trillium along the edge, we now see purple and white dames rocket and clover in bloom. One just has to be observant to see the small changes in the scenery. Traffic at least today was very light, which surprised me as it is school out and vacation time. Perhaps the gas prices are keeping people at home. Talking about gas prices, I purchased diesel in Indiana for $2.82, in Ohio for $2.72, while prices in NY are $3.04. I will by in Massachusetts, which by any means are not cheep, but should be cheaper than NY.

Tonight we are in Phelps, NY, tomorrow evening we will spend with good friends Bonnie and Alex Alexander in Albany, NY. This has been an annual stop for the past 7 or 8 years with our friends who used to live in Boston. Usually we are here for the Kentucky Derby weekend - this shows how far behind our normal schedule we are. However, this is one of the beauties of the RV Lifestyle! Go where we want to, when we want to, etc. Plan to be home on Cape Cod June 6.

Hope to post one more upon our return.
